Regenerative Injection Therapy

Our providers utilize regenerative injections such as Prolotherapy and Prolozone Therapy (a form of non-surgical ligament reconstruction and is a treatment for chronic pain. Prolozone is a connective tissue injection therapy of non-invasive collagen producing substances.

Prolotherapy is also known as Proliferative Therapy, or Regenerative Joint Injection. It is a nonsurgical treatment which stimulates healing. The treatment originated in the 1930’s when Dr. Earl Gedney, an osteopathic surgeon successfully treated his own severe hand injury. Prolotherapy is used for musculoskeletal pain or injury which is either unresolved after eight weeks, or (if earlier) where enhanced healing is desired. Prolotherapy works by raising growth factor levels or effectiveness to promote tissue repair or growth.

Prolotherapy can help you speed up the healing process for a wide range of issues and works by stimulating the body’s own natural healing mechanisms to repair injured musculoskeletal tissue. This includes injuries, post-surgery care and chronic pain. It’s done by directed injection to the painful site to cause a mild inflammatory response that triggers the growth of new, healthy ligament and tendon fibers. It also has the added benefit of breaking up old scar tissue from surgeries or injuries to improve mobility. It is one of the most effective, natural ways to heal and manage pain.

Traditional Prolotherapy solution formulas include ingredients such as dextrose. However, it can be personalized based on the treatment plan & needs.  Other types of Prolotherapy include Dextrose Prolotherapy,Platelet Rich Plasma Prolotherapy(Referred to as “PRP”), among others.

Our clinicians have completed advanced training in Prolotherapy, PRP and Prolozone therapy.
